The Importance of Eyesight Correction

Vision is the most important of the five senses. Without good vision, the quality of life is considerably compromised. If you are wearing prescription glasses or contacts, you do not have good vision. Even if the prescription is very weak, it is essential to improve eyesight, or else it deteriorates over time. If, on the other hand, the prescription is very strong, there is no reason to despair. The good news is that you can improve vision through eyesight correction. No matter what, improving eyesight should always be a top priority in life to protect that invaluable asset given by your Creator. Natural eyesight correction is a natural self-healing process.

It is a myth that wearing glasses is natural. No, it is not! Wearing any corrective eyewear is unnatural. Wearing contacts is not eyesight correction: it merely masks the vision problem. Denying the existence of the eye problem does not make it go away. Instead, improve vision through simple eyesight correction strategies. You can learn to have good vision throughout life if you know how to keep your eyes in good shape and maintain good vision health. More importantly, you can even train yourself through eye exercises to improve eyesight so that you can have perfect vision without glasses at any age.

Vision health is holistic health. The success of eyesight correction to improve vision is contingent on optimum vision health, which is the health of the eye.

The Fundamentals of Vision Health

Vision health is holistic health. The success of eyesight correction to improve vision is contingent on optimum vision health, which is the health of the eye.

Good vision is holistic health or total health -- involving the mind, the body, and the spirit. To improve vision, you need holistic healing of the eye.

Mind power plays the most important role in perfect vision. First of all, you must have the intention to see better, that is, a desire for eyesight correction to attain perfect vision. Then, you will empower yourself with knowledge to improve eyesight. Eyesight correction techniques require regular practice; in other words, you need mind power for self-discipline in order to achieve your goal to improve vision.

The eye is connected to other body organs, most importantly, the liver and the kidneys. A healthy body makes healthy eyes. In addition, blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the eye. An efficient circulatory system optimizes vision health, without which there is no eyesight correction.

Eyestrain is the No. 1 cause of eye problems and weak vision. It constricts eye muscles, and thereby not only distorting the shape of the eyeball but also restricting blood flow to the eye. Stress causes eyestrain. A healthy spirit relaxes the mind and the body, and therefore soothes the eye, providing the optimum environment for eyesight correction.

Techniques for Eyesight Correction for Perfect Vision

Practice eyesight correction techniques to improve eyesight, if not for perfect vision. Practice them with insight and knowledge.

Correct bad vision habits for eyesight correction

Over the years, you may have unwittingly acquired bad vision habits that not only impair eye vision but also create eye problems.

Looking without focusing

Looking into the distance without focusing weakens eye muscles for distant vision.

To correct weak distant vision, train your eyes to look at distant objects by moving slowly around them, seeing the edge of each object. Edging or tracking can be done with your eyes only, or with your nose as a focal point. Form the habit of edging and tracking while walking, looking out the window, reading, and so on. Every now and then, close your eyes to rest them. Practice edging or tracking (without glasses or contact lenses) as frequently as possible. This is essential for eyesight correction.

By the same token, you can also improve close vision by edging or tracking letters on the printed page by going around the outside and inside of the letter in print. Close your eyes afterwards to rest them. Practice this not only to improve close vision but also to relax the eye.

Close seeing in poor lighting

The human eye is not intended to do close seeing in anything but adequate light. Poor lighting weakens normal eyes by causing unnecessary eyestrain.

Do not work on the computer in a dark environment due to improper distribution of light.

Avoid glare on the page or work surface, especially with a reflected glow upward.

Above are some of the bad habits that undermine eyesight correction.

Incorrect reading posture

Incorrect reading posture is a major cause of weakened eyesight. A slumped position causes the eyes to point downward. A neck-bent-downward posture lengthens the eyeball, resulting in nearsightedness.

Hold print parallel and about 20 inches from the eyes.

Do not read in bed because it strains the eye due to poor posture and often-improper lighting.

Bad fixed-eye staring habit

Normal healthy eyes shift 70 times per second in order to exercise eye muscles and maintain good blood circulation.

Do not let your eyes become “frozen” in any position.

Relaxing the brain and the mind

Dr. William H. Bates, M.D., the world-famous founder of natural vision, once  said: “When the mind is at rest, nothing can tire the eyes; and when the mind is under a strain nothing can rest them; anything that rests the mind will benefit the eyes.”

T
he best way to relax the brain and the mind is through deep meditation.

Reducing eye strain and strengthening eye muscles

Weak vision is mainly due to weak eye muscles resulting from constant eyestrain, which is unnatural effort to see. As a result, the eyeball becomes elongated, making it difficult to see objects in the distance.

Muscle tension causes congestion, which prevents good circulation of blood to nourish the eyes with oxygen and nutrients.

Eyesight correction to improve eyesight uses eye exercises to strengthen eye muscles to keep the eye lenses in shape.
